A 6-week beginner’s course, introducing foundational concepts and definitions. You’ll learn some of the basic moves of freestyle and begin to understand how to work and communicate with your dog as you learn to move together in new ways. |

Your dog must be able to walk nicely on a leash in the presence of other dogs, and be at least eight months old. |
Note/Comments |
This
class is suitable for anyone who is interested in canine freestyle, whether “just for fun” or as a foundation for eventual competition. By the end of the class, you will have a video of you and your dog performing a simple routine.
Please bring proof of your dog’s up-to-date vaccinations, and be prepared to take notes. |

Level II: Getting Serious |

Description |
An 8-week program for students who have had some training in musical canine freestyle, either with Music Plus Dogs! or another coach/trainer, or self-taught. By the end of the 7 weeks, students will have learned three choreographed routines, and will be preparing to create their own choreography. The first lesson is about 30 minutes in duration; subsequent lessons are about 75 minutes, depending on the number of teams. |

Prior experience or training in musical canine freestyle |
Note/Comments |
The first lesson is held WITHOUT the dogs: we’ll get acquainted, there will be discussion of terminology and expectations, and you’ll have a chance to ask questions. Be prepared to take notes. New students are required to bring proof of the dog’s up-to-date vaccinations. |

In-depth Introductory Workshop |

Description |
A 2-hour workshop that provides an in-depth opportunity to sample musical canine freestyle, intended for groups such as breed meet-up groups, kennel clubs, dog training clubs, or other organizations. You’ll learn some of the concepts and definitions of freestyle, learn some of the basic movements, and have an opportunity to try a simple choreographed routine with music. |
